About

I am professor of philosophy at UWA, having started there as an undergraduate in philosophy 35 years ago and returned just in the last few years after a career based in Canada and the US. I started working in philosophy for children as an undergraduate (when Ann Margaret Sharp visited the UWA campus), and spent several months with Sharp and Matthew Lipman at the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children in New Jersey in 1986. I founded Philosophy for Children Alberta in Edmonton in 2008, and co-founded a summer camp in philosophy, Eurekamp, in 2009 there. I am the convenor of the AAP's Philosophy in the Community Committee and am working with Matthew Wills and Kaz Bland on expanding Philosothons in Australasia. APIS is a great WA organisation to work with in this space!
